Courage

Courage is the strength from God that enables you to endure any trial or danger.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

Hang On

Here's a little quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt that I read and it made me think.

"When you come to the end of your rope...tie a knot and hang on."

I know that I've felt like I had come to the end of my rope many times but I'm still here. I guess we need to just keep on keepin on. God will see us through the hard times if we hang on and trust him.

A Step of Faith

This is a cool little piece of information I thought you guys might like to read.

A man once went for a ride in the country with a friend. They drove off the main road and through a grove of orange trees to a mostly uninhabited piece of land. Walter stopped the car and began to vividly describe the things he was going to build on the land. He explained to his friend, " I can handle the main project myself. It will take all my money, but I want you to have the first chance at this surrounding acreage because in the next five years it will increase in value several hundred times." Arthur thought to himself, Who in the world is going to drive twenty-five miles for this crazy project? Walter's dream has taken the best of his common sense. He promised to look into the deal later.

"Later on will be too late." Walter cautioned. "You'd better move on it right now."

Arthur failed to act, however. And so it was that Art Linkletter turned down the opportunity to buy the land that surrounded what would become Disneyland, the land his friend Walt Disney had tried to talk him into buying. When opportunity greets you, sometimes you have to take a step of faith.

Feeling Inferior

Isn't it true that we can only feel inferior if we let ourselves feel that way. Why is it the that we let other people dictate the way we feel about ourselves? Imagine the potential we could live up to if we didn't really care what others thought about us or how we ran our life. I really admire the people that go through life not caring if people like them or not and live their life accordingly. Personally, I think for some unknown reason we care too much therefore we always live trying to please others...not that there is a problem with pleasing others, because I think we should strive to do just that, but not to the extent that we are scared to step out of our box and comfort zone for fear of people talking about us or thinking of us a certain way. I dunno...that's just my 2 cents worth I guess.

Quote of the Day

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Trip to BC

Hey guys! Sorry for the delay in updating this. I've been kinda busy. I recently went to BC for a bit of a vacation. It was soo much fun. I was drinking french-press coffee about 3-4 times a day. I'm hoping that's close to what heaven will be like. My little cousin Hannah and I would go out and visit the frogs a couple times a day in the little home-made pond behind Barb and Dennis' house. We even gave all the frogs names. It was a very relaxing time. Here are some pictures of the trip.
